In English for High School students will be taught how to excel in English for Grades 9-12. The courses focuses on all the stages of the writing process and will provide tips and strategies to ensure the student’s success within the classroom, on assignments, and in exams.
Students will learn how to manage their time, improve reading compression, brainstorm ideas, and how to use their unique learning style to their advantage in English classroom. Popular assignments such as book reports, poetry, and essays will be taught in an easy to understand method, along with how to format assignments using MLA guidelines. Additionally, key concepts such as how to write a thesis, understanding literary devices, and common grammatical errors will be covered.
Upon completion of this courses students will have successfully create their own learning goals to help them continue to improve, and have participated in discussions, reflections, and quizzes to demonstrate their understanding of the course material.
